Mens shirt to baby art

I have finally finished some more canvass pieces with the mens shirts I purchased at that salvation army a while back. The pieces are comprised of some mixed media, acrylic paint, paper, buttons and fabric (mens shirts). I thought it was good timing since father's day is around the corner. When I saw the different blue striped blues I immediately pictured little blue birds.

Piece one
Baby Blue Birds

Piece two
Baby blue birds and friends

I also jazzed up a plain wood picture frame in keeping with the blue bird theme.

Inspiration came from my mom to do the second set of canvass pieces. She collects Elephants and has a true love for these amazing animals. So much so she found an organization that allows you to adopt a baby elephant in Africa. She adopted a little baby elephant for our peanut as a Christmas gift.

Piece 3
Mama's elephant

Piece 4
Te Amo Elephant

Cards

Hooray more painting going on over here. I made these cards last year as thank-you cards for my bridal shower. Drawing, painting and hand writing 20 cards took a bit of time but it was the least I could do to show my appreciation for all the wonderful gifts.

I found two un-painted ones last night amongst my art supply and finished them off with some paint while watching a movie.

They would be great as birthday cards as well.

Home made cards are a favorite.

Craft Time

I haven't painted in a while and was feeling motivated last night and came up with some fun magnets. I am not a fan of a ton of stuff on the fridge but I do like to keep a couple of things on it and why not have those things hanging in style?

They were really easy to make and I was more than pleased with the end result.

Materials needed
-water colour paints
-thin tipped sharpie pen (I couldn't find mine, argh, but I used a fine tip silver pen and it worked just as well)
-card stock
-magnets that come with a sticky back, I found some at Staples a year or so ago, that are meant to adhere to a business card but they worked wonderfully for my magnet art idea.

Voila fancy, non tacky fridge magnet.

Day before 10 months

My darling little love turns 10 months tomorrow, every day seems to be better than the last and I still can't believe she is a part of me. My favorite things about having a ten month old are:
-regular bedtime routine
-sleeping through the night
-diverse food repertoire
-clapping hands and kisses
-happy dance when she has discovered a new food she likes.
-enjoys the sippy cup now
-her love for all animals big and small
-watching sesame street for 10 minutes.
Having fun eating, this child loves food! There are maybe two things she doesn't like, the rest is fair game. The hairdo she is sporting is her own doing, apparently mushed apples and blueberries make great hair gel.

Ahh a nice fresh baby, the peanut after bath time.
