Fresh

Our bedroom is a disaster of laundry that seems to keep piling up and frankly is just feeling very dull right now. I typically shy away from warm colours like the yellows and reds and oranges but I found this amazing vintage table cloth on Sunday and couldn't resist turning it into pillows and art for the bedroom, just to infuse a little more energy and zest.

They are a 70's chenille green colour.

After with the new covers made from the table cloth

I also made new pillow case covers from the fabric I found a few weeks ago they were a perfect match to go with the new smaller accent pillows and I used the table cloth fabric as a canvass piece as well.

A litte more flare, now to tackle the laundry situation. Need to find dresser pronto!

April showers do bring May flowers

What a month so far! It is most certainly the year of marriages. Almost every weekend has been busy with bridal showers and stagettes and I have had the pleasure of helping to decorate for the bridal showers and of course I took zero pictures, ahhh. I did a couple of mock up flower arrangements and did remember to take pictures of these! During some of the frenzy I managed to stab or poke myself with a skewer while playing with the frozen strawberries on a skewer idea for the flowers, I abandoned ship on that one. I think they would have worked had they been fresh strawberries. Thank-fully the lemons worked well though!

Somewhere between all the festivities the peanut has learned to crawl and is working on standing and transferring! Yeah peanut.

Hooray for strong legs.

Hair is growing and we can now sport hair do's.

A little crafty

So I feel like I hit the jack pot at the thrift shop today! I have had this idea to do a series of canvass pieces using mens old dress shirts for my little one's room and what do you know, I found a canvass for 1.99, lots of great material and a few mens dress shirts in the perfect tones for the project as well as tons of buttons. I started one and hope to find two more little canvass to do a total of three.

All the great fabric and mens shirts I found.

I then cut enough of the fabric on the backside to cover the canvass, stapled it over the canvass, then I drew the bird on some scrap booking paper that I had and hot glued it on and used one of the buttons I found today for the eye.

Voila a little canvass piece for the bambina's room
